How To Build Trust In A Relationship

Source : http://www.1articleaday.com/ permits to republish here

Building trust in a relationship can be very difficult depending on the circumstances. If one partner had an affair, then it may take several years to build trust in a relationship. It can be done and marriages survive affairs but it will take time. The person who had the affair will need to apologise to his/her partner and then be prepared for that person to learn to trust them again.

But trust is something that needs to be built up in every partnership. After all you are going to share your life with this other person so you need to know that they share the same values as you do. If you are trying to build mutual reliance there are several ways of doing this:

1) Make sure your words and actions match. If you say you are going to be home at a certain time, then make sure you are or else phone in advance to explain why. It is the little gestures that define who we are.

2) Always tell the truth no matter how painful. Lies destroy every type of relationship from friendships through to marriage. Telling the truth isn't always the easy option but it is the safest. If your partner knows that you always tell the truth, they will trust you much quicker. If they hear you telling lies to others, even those that you dismiss as being small or white lies, they will have less belief in you.

3)Do not keep secrets when in a relationship. Now I don't mean that you have to tell your new boyfriend or girlfriend your deepest secrets but as soon as the relationship looks like it is becoming serious, it is a good time to make sure that any relevant history is out in the open.

4) You need to have faith in your partner before expecting them to return that trust. If you have to text them morning and night wondering where they are and who they are with, they are likely to think you have something to hide.

5) Don't be unrealistic. All relationships have issues even those that have been happily married for 50 years. You need to accept that being part of a couple means that you take the good times and the bad. If you bolt at the first sign of trouble, your partner is never likely to trust you.

6) Finally rely on yourself to do the right thing. You must first know yourself and trust in your ability to make the right choices before you can trust anyone else. You have to know what your own goals and aspirations are in life before you can share a meaningful existence with someone else. Somebody with a defined sense of values is more likely to trust another person as they will quickly recognise these similar values.

All good relationships are built on a number of factors so learn how to build trust in a relationship now to increase your chance of success.

Things I ve Learned from Women Who ve Dumped Me

Source : http://www.1articleaday.com/ permits to republish here

Okay, I’ll admit, I’ve been dumped. More than once. More than I’d like to admit, actually. And, while it hurt quite a bit each time, I have to say that I have grown from the experiences. So, here are some things I’ve learned from women who ve dumped me.

Things I’ve Learned from Women Who ve Dumped Me #1: It takes two.

Often with the pain and heartbreak of a break up, it is easy to blame the other person for your misery. But the truth is that if the relationship was no longer working, you were part of the problem. Evaluate what went on so that you can apply the lessons to your next relationship.

Things I’ve Learned from Women Who ve Dumped Me #2: Give women their personal space.

Women like to cuddle and snuggle. They may seem to always be around. But they need their personal space too. Men have a tendency to be possessive. We want to keep tabs on where they’re going and what they’re doing there. If any woman has ever cheated on you, this instinct becomes stronger. But, trust is a key component in a relationship. When you invade her personal space, you send the message that you don’t trust your girlfriend. This can easily lead to the end of the relationship.

Things I’ve Learned from Women Who ve Dumped Me #3: You get stronger over time.

When you wake up in the morning and the hurt’s so real, you may believe that you will never get over the break up. But the truth is that not only does time heal all pain, but you will emerge from the break up a stronger person. As philosopher Frederick Nietzsche said, “that which doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.”

Things I’ve Learned from Women Who ve Dumped Me #4: It’s okay if it wasn’t meant to be.

Coming to accept that a relationship wasn’t meant to be is a key factor in healing. If you had started projecting your relationship into the future – considering marriage, thinking about children – and then the woman you were with broke everything off, consider it a blessing. It is better to end a relationship that wasn’t meant to be earlier rather than later.

Things I’ve Learned from Women Who ve Dumped Me #5: Good things don’t happen unless you make them happen.

Finally, the last lesson I want to share with you is that you can’t control what happened, but you can control to how you react to what happened. If you want good things to happen in the future, you have to make them happen.

That means getting back on the horse. Go out, meet new women. Have some fun. Eventually, you will find another relationship. And, if you have followed the advice in this article about things I’ve learned from women who ve dumped me, the relationship will be even better and stronger than the last one.

The Best Relationship Quotes I Know

source :  http://www.1articleaday.com/ permits to republish here.

I love reading relationship quotes and today I thought I would share a couple of my favorite ones with you. Where possible, proper credit has been given to the person who wrote or spoke the original quote. However in some cases that may not have been possible.

You know love funny quotes as I believe humour is a key ingredient in a great relationship. Some of the funny ones I like are:

"What can you say to a man who has just had sex? Anything you like as he is asleep".

Or for those male readers - "what is the difference between a terrorist and a woman with PMS?" "You can negotiate with a terrorist!"

Joking aside, this quote credited to Leo Buscaglia should be in all couple’s homes.

“Too often we under estimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around”.

As most of us know it is the little things in a relationship that can cause it to fail or blossom. It is easy to blame the other person in our relationship for our dissatisfaction but as Martha Washington said “I have learned from experience that a greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.”

Some relationship quotations are beautiful and sad at the same time. Such as the one from William Somerset Maugham (an English Writer) on unrequited love being "The love that lasts the longest is the love that is never returned."

While I don't think Colin Powell was talking about relationships when he said "None of us can change our yesterdays, but we can all change our tomorrows", it is one that we could all do with remembering. Too often we waste time and energy holding grudges against our partners for something they did in the past. It is too late to change it now so let it go once and for all. So long as it isn't a pattern of repeated behaviour it doesn't do anyone any good to remember it.

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much " Helen Keller. This lady was my idol when I was growing up. Despite being born blind and mute she achieved so much more than the rest of us often do. I believe that being part of a couple and then a family gives us the chance to be so much more. We need to appreciate the gifts we have. Our relationships would be a lot happier if we said thank you and I love you just a little more often.

As Mother Theresa is quoted as saying "There is more hunger for love and appreciation in the world today than for bread". Make sure your loved one knows how much you love and appreciate them today, to avoid a day when you wished you had listened to the relationship quotes.

How to Get Over Someone You Love A Heartbreak Healing Guide

How to Get Over Someone You Love A Heartbreak Healing Guide

Author: H Todd Scholer  who permitted republishing here.

At first, you will feel terribly hurt and alone. Accept your pain don't fight it. You spent a good amount of time and emotional energy on your ex, and that won't heal in a hurry. It is okay to cry. Talk to your friends and family about how they dealt with a break up.

One useful thing to do at this stage is to write a letter to your ex. Pour out everything that is in your heart. Talk about your love, your expectations, and your pain. Many people find that this letter runs pages in length. Take your time composing it.

Then, when you have said everything that needs saying, roll up the letter and burn it.

That's right. What ever you do, do not mail this letter to your ex. The purpose of the letter was for you to emote. But, don't keep the letter lying around either. You want a symbolic ending. Burning gives you a sense of finality that even throwing the letter away won't give you.
As you get a little bit of perspective on the relationship, the next step in how to get over someone you love is to analyze what went wrong. As unlikely as it seems right now, you will have other relationships. If you learn from the mistakes in this one, the next one has a better chance of success.
Keep your distance from your ex. That will help you in how to get over someone you love. As soon after the break up as possible, exchange any property you have of each others, and then do a complete separation for 30 days. Agree that you won't call, text, or email each other for a month. This will give you time to recover from the break up.

Use this time to work on areas of your own life that you have neglected. If you have ignored friends because your romantic relationship took up too much time, use this period in your life to reconnect. Friends can provide a valuable support network during this time.

Start working on your own emotional and physical health during this time. Take time to go to the gym and consider getting therapy to help your psyche heal.

You should also look into ways to improve yourself. Join a hiking club. Take a class at the local community center. Take tango lessons. As you work on becoming a better person, the hurt of the relationship will begin to fade away.

You will meet a whole new circle of people when you get involved in activities you enjoy. Some of these people will become friends. And, one may become a soul mate.

And isn't forming a new relationship the ultimate answer to the question how to get over someone you love?

A Relationship Breakup - You Will Get Over It

By Katie PepperMorgan who permitted republishing here.

When a relationship ends, you have a loss. There's the loss of a person from your life who you've spent lots of time with. The intimacy you shared with this person now feels gone, and it's common to think you'll never have or sometimes even want that with another person. Breaking up can simply feel like the end of the world.

But it's not! You need to put your ex boyfriend or girlfriend in the proper perspective so you can move on. This isn't easy to do, but it's important that you start trying as soon as possible.

You'll get tons of advice on how to deal with a relationship breakup. You'll hear everything from burn all your pictures to hop back on the horse and find another relationship. You will know which approach is best for you, no matter what anyone says. Don't try something that worked for someone else if it doesn't feel right.

Give yourself permission to feel bad at first. Whenever you have a loss you go through the same stages of grief as you do when there's a death or any type of ending, with the degree of feeling varying from situation to situation.

1. Denial is the first stage of loss after anything difficult like the end of a relationship. This can't be happening!

2. Next, pain and guilt set in after the shock and denial start to fade.

3. Anger comes next, as does something called bargaining. If I do this or don't do that, maybe we can get back together. I'll never look at another man as long as I live, if only . . . .

4. Depression and loneliness set in once it's clear that bargaining won't change the painful truth.

5. The next step is the lessening of depression when things start to seem a little better.

6. Then comes the hard part of working through it and getting past it.

7. The last stage of grief after a relationship breakup or any loss is acceptance, and hope for a better future.

It can help to try to figure out which stage you're in, and to know that everyone experiences something along these lines. Not everyone will go through every stage and they might not even be in order.

You might never start bargaining, for instance, especially if you know it's really and truly over. But most people's grief process will follow that general pattern. It's important to recognize that there is a final stage, and that stage means you've gotten past it.

Try to put your relationship breakup into perspective with other important things that have happened and will happen in your life, and remember that you'll eventually get to the acceptance stage, too.

Your Scorpio Boyfriend Understand Him

Author: H Todd Scholer

If you have a Scorpio boyfriend, you've paired up with one of the passionate signs of the Zodiac. He won't just be passionate in love and lust. His passion spreads to everything he does. He'll be passionate about all of his interests, his job, his work and play, and if he loves you, your Scorpio boyfriend will be passionate about keeping you happy.

Scorpios are driven, but they know how to balance work and play most of the time. Scorpios tend to be more impatient that some other signs, too. While a Capricorn man might make a long-reaching plan and be content to plod away toward the goal, knowing he's achieving it little by little, a Scorpio man would rather make one broad leap toward the end.

Scorpios also love luxury. Especially if he hasn't much in his life, once he discovers the little things that make a person feel pampered, he won't want to be without them. Eating at nicer restaurants, seeing movies in a better theater with larger more comfy seats and better sound, these little things are important to him.

One of the drawbacks of this love of luxury is a Scorpioís tendency to go to extremes and excess. Sometimes a Scorpio boyfriend can appear greedy when it comes to food, drink or anything else that can be taken to an extreme. Overdoing it is a hallmark of being born during this sun sign.

The Scorpio is represented by a scorpion, and we all know that scorpions have pincers and stingers in their tails. So watch out when Scorpios get angry! While many are slow to really get angry, once they lose their temper it's well and truly lost.

Some Scorpios actually have very short tempers and stay angry for a long time as well. But most Scorpios, just as they take other things to excess, can stay angry for huge amounts of time over small things. A Scorpio can hold a grudge for a lifetime.

Your Scorpio boyfriend will also have a very fine-tuned sense of reality. So don't bother trying to trick him or fool him, because he'll probably see right through it. Some Scorpios seem to have built-in lie detectors or those proverbial eyes in the backs of their heads.

A Scorpioís sense of truth often leads to them being very blunt. Many are unflinching when it comes to things like death and dying, with black humor and gallows humor being a Scorpio favorite.

If you're a Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn, you have the best compatibility. Those are earth signs, while a Scorpio is a water sign. If you're a Cancer or a Pisces, both water signs like Scorpio, you should be compatible, too.

That's not say another sign of the Zodiac can't have a successful relationship with a Scorpio. But there might be more challenges along the way than if you were each more compatible signs. No matter what sign you are, if you really want to make thing work with your Scorpio boyfriend, you can!
